Description
This item in my EBAY store is an EAPG CLEAR DUNCAN MILLER "DIAMOND RIDGE" HIGH STANDARD FTD. CAKE STAND. This Duncan Early American Pattern Glass clear "Diamond Ridge" ftd. cake stand is antique glass that has survived well over 100 years of survival and because of age has now become a beautiful family heirloom piece of glass that is in excellent condition having NO chips, cracks, scratches, and no glass staining; I may also add that this
EAPG CLEAR DUNCAN MILLER "DIAMOND RIDGE" HIGH STANDARD FTD. CAKE STAND is an early vintage antique glass cake stand that has been used and displayed many years and is still very beautiful;
This "Diamond Ridge" cake stand is a dandy, as you can see by the photo's there is a rim on top of this cake stand, along with the scalloped edge skirt with some tell tale gold gilt stain that is left on the outside rim, going to the stem of this cake stand, the stem is hollow with a beautiful scalloped edge foot with the pattern on the stem matching the top of this cake stand, and this cake stand is straight and not crooked like some of the photo's show (my mistake); There are air bubbles and stress lines that are very common characteristic's of EAPG of this era of glass making; This "Diamond Ridge" cake stand is just the way it left the Duncan factory many years ago; Of all the reference material that I have, this pattern can be seen on a toy table set on page #52 in the
child's bible on toy glass "Children's Dishes" by "Margaret & Kenn Whitmyer" a beautiful little guide on children's antique collectibles; I can hardly believe that this beautiful pattern is not shown in the cake stand bible, the reference material by "James & O'Brien" the "Early American Pattern Glass Cake Stands & serving piece's showing identification along with values;
Numerous photos were taken with flash and outside in natural daylight in different backgrounds in numerous angles and positions to show pattern, condition, glass clarity, & size hoping to answer any and all questions but if need be you can E-mail me or you can see me on my NEW web site at terrymackeyantiques.com.
