Description
This auction is for a very rare and flawless CAMBRIDGE ETCHED PINK 8 PIECE PINCHED DECANTER SET WITH 6 TUMBLERS. This set is stunning! The decanter measures 11 inches tall, and 5 inches wide. The tumblers measure 2 1/2 inches tall and 2 inches wide. There are some black specs in the bottom of the decanter. Returns are not accept so be sure to ask all questions before you bid. I have lots of rare antiques listed under my other auctions. Thank you! This is a beautiful covered divided dish/bowl made by Cambridge Glass, formerly of Cambridge, Ohio and is part of their # 3500 (Gadroon) pattern line. Circa 1930-1934.It is a gorgeous PINK milk Glass divided dish with 3 sections.
The unique clover shaped dish features a scalloped design, beautiful sculpted handles, and a three compartment partitioned interior. It is approximately 8" wide and 3 3/4" tall.
This is OLD milk glass. You can see the "ring of fire" on the handles when you put the dish in the light. It's really pretty!
This dish is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
This piece is made in a lovely pink opaque colored glass that Cambridge called “Crown Tuscan” and is a high-quality piece of hand-made American made pressed glass. It
was specifically designated as the # 3500/57 - 8” 3 Compartment Candy Box & cover. This shape is pictured, with an etching, on page 34-9 (1934) in the 1930 - THRU - 1934 Cambridge Catalog Reprint Book The Cambridge Glass Co. by The National Cambridge Collectors, Inc.
It can be used for serving candies, mints, nuts or condiments. It is so pretty that it could also be used in a dressing room area for small jewelry pieces, hair clips or on a desk with paper clips, binder clips, elastics.
About Cambridge Glass Company
Cambridge Glass Company was founded in 1901 in Cambridge, Ohio. The company closed in 1954, reopened briefly, and closed again in 1958. The firm made all types of glass.
About Crown Tuscan
Henry Hellmers, a graduate of the University of Michigan, arrived at the Cambridge Glass Company in 1930 and worked there until 1932. One of the fruits of his labor at Cambridge was Crown Tuscan, introduced during the summer of 1932. Crown Tuscan is a "pinkish" color that ranges from opaque to translucent. Crown Tuscan was manufactured until the factory closed in 1958.
