Peach-Blo
vanity set is exceptional. This wonderful set consists of a #581 puff box, two #198 cologne bottles complete with mint daubers and a #660 vanity tray. The cologne or perfume bottles hold 1½ oz.each. This beautiful set is in
Undamaged Condition without chips, cracks, or mold damage.
The color of this set is impressive. It is a rich Peach-Blo / Pink color. The tops of the stoppers were hand ground (at the Cambridge factory). This set would be a great addition to any Depression Era Bedroom and Bathroom collection.
Cambridge No. 198 Cologne and Puff Box Combinations
The No. 198 Cambridge cologne bottom has three series of concentric rings. One set is on the foot, another is on the narrow part of the perfume, just above the foot, and the third is just below the neck. The perfume is 5” high with the stopper in place. The stopper is 3¼” long, and the bottom is 4” high. The head of the stopper has eight flat sides which are separated by four curved scallops. The top is also ground and polished. This vanity set was first mentioned in trade magazines about mid 1925. Two of these perfume bottles and the No. 589 powder jar were offered as a vanity set. In 1926 an ad in Butler Brothers shows this set with a #660 tray. Over the years Cambridge sold this cologne bottle with different puff boxes to produce vanity sets, but they still used the numbers for the individual pieces in the combinations instead of giving the entire set a new number.
